Properate (Lambda Science Inc.) is on a mission to make every home more comfortable, durable, and green – using energy rating and upgrade planning.
Expanding our operations, we are looking for a Software Developer who can manage a variety of tasks related to web development and data translation.
The candidate will develop and maintain data processors and tools for home energy assessments and upgrades, based on Properate’s “grey-box” building energy modeling platform that has rated over a million homes. The candidate's work will enable more homes to get accurate energy ratings and carbon emission reports, and help homeowners find the best solutions to lower their environmental impact.
We are looking for a candidate who:
- Has converted and analyzed tabular and/or geospatial data using common data analysis tools and basic statistical operations.
- Is familiar with JavaScript, TypeScript, asynchronous programing, unit tests, code optimization, and documentation. As well as front-end HTML, CSS, and VueJs (knowledge of Nuxt is an asset).
- Can implement websites, dashboards, or apps from mock-ups, with an attention to the aesthetic details and interactions.
- Has a good understanding of data security and can audit the new and existing code for security vulnerabilities and permission issues.
- Understands state-management and common database architectures.
- Can use and maintain git repositories.
- Has familiarity with Scrum or other project management systems.
The applicant must be a Canadian citizen or a Permanent Resident. Preference will be given to the residents of British Columbia; however, the position is predominantly remote (office days are available).
The role involves:
- Creating and/or maintaining data pipelines.
- Exploring data and extracting insights.
- Expanding the front-end and back-end of new or existing products.
- Creating landing pages and interfaces for new and existing end-points.
- Documenting and unit testing existing and future code.
- Incorporating new technologies into the platform for monitoring and operational consistency.
The following are valuable assets:
- Any familiarity with residential construction.
- Good understanding of speed and memory optimization measures in NodeJs. Including CPU Profiling and Workers.
- Experience with AWS and Google Cloud.
- Experience with containers, specifically docker.
Properate's work environment is friendly and inclusive. By being a growing team in a rapidly growing market, we are able to offer high career growth potential and flexible work arrangements. This position requires a full-time commitment.
